Insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor binding polypeptides, and polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides, are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for producing polypeptides using cell expression systems and cell-free systems, and methods for using polypeptides for producing fusion proteins. The disclosed polypeptides can provide a means for delivering therapeutic agents across the blood-brain barrier (BBB).
