The present invention relates to a monitoring system capable of confirming a process progress of a machining center operated in a manufacturing factory in real time, and a monitoring method using the same. A program number of a program in an operation is read from a controller of the machining center, and start and end of the operation and a process rate can be calculated. The monitoring system comprises: a monitoring part; a process rate calculating part; and a program providing part.
