The present invention relates to a disaster safety system using an IoT module and an LED, which rapidly provides a notification in emergency and a guide for an exit route; and a control method thereof. The disaster safety system of the present invention comprises an IoT sensor (10), an LED lighting device (30), an IoT repeater (20), and a cloud (50). The control method of the disaster safety system comprises: a step (S10) of sensing a disaster situation; a step (S20) of transmitting an event signal to the cloud (50) when a disaster signal is sensed; a step (S30) of transmitting an emergency power control signal; and a step (S40) of receiving the emergency power control signal, and activating an emergency power of the LED lighting device (30).
