FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: device for demonstrating and investigating the movement of an ensemble of mathematical pendulums with longitudinal oscillations of its suspension, containing an ensemble of pendulums in the form of loads with suspensions, having a common source of longitudinal mechanical oscillations. Suspensions in the form of tightly connected concentric toroids of increasing diameter form the integration, with each smaller toroid located inside a toroid of larger diameter and lying with it in one plane. Loading of each of the toroids is made in the form of a metal ball placed in the inner cavity of the specified hollow ring of the toroid and freely moving in the ring. Two supports are rigidly fixed on the outer surface of two diametrically opposed toroidal sections of maximum diameter and have pivot axis of supports, co-axial among themselves in a horizontal plane passing through the common axis of rotation of toroids, and providing the possibility of turning toroids on the axes of these supports by an angle of 360°.;EFFECT: source of mechanical oscillations connected to specified supports has the ability to reciprocate the supports in a vertical plane up and down when the toroid is oriented in a vertical plane; the invention also offers a method for demonstrating and investigating the movement of an ensemble of mathematical pendulums with longitudinal oscillations of its suspensions.;5 cl, 1 dwg
