Device for feeding at least a part of a drilling machine in at least a first direction comprises a first end portion, a second end portion, outer cylinder, piston and piston rod. First part of the device is adapted to be attached to the drilling machine, the second part of the device is designed to be supported on the ground. Outer cylinder passes between the end portions. Piston and the piston rod are displaceably arranged in the outer cylinder. Piston together with the piston rod, the outer cylinder and the end portions define the boundaries of the first chamber and the second chamber for the pressurized medium in the outer cylinder on the corresponding side of the piston. Apparatus further comprises a valve connected to the first chamber to reduce the pressure medium in the first chamber.
