Passive protection system and corresponding method for protection of hydraulic engineering systems, wherein based on a already existing or at the same time or newly applied to the substrate (5) of the steel structure hydraulic passive corrosion protection in addition a layer structure (4) is attached, the at least one inserted fabric reinforcement (3 ). The invention solves the previously unsatisfactorily solved task, steel hydraulic systems preferred not only against corrosive, but - to reinforce - also significantly protect against mechanical or other effects.
