Here, a method of manufacturing a single crystal wavelength conversion element made of a polycrystalline wavelength conversion element, a single crystal wavelength conversion element and a light source including the same will be described. By fabricating the monocrystalline wavelength conversion element made of a polycrystalline wavelength conversion element, the method offers higher flexibility in producing single-crystal wavelength conversion elements than melt-growth methods for forming single crystals. Advantages may include higher activator levels, formation of more complex shapes without machining, providing a wider range of potential activator gradients, and higher rates of growth at lower temperatures.
