The invention relates to a method for moulding a profiled bead on the edge of a window (1), in which a plastic material constituting said profiled bead is introduced into a moulding cavity (2), said moulding cavity (2) being delimited partly by said window (1) and partly by walls of a mould (3) comprising at least a fixed mould part (30) and a movable mould part (32) that is movable relative to the fixed mould part (30), said mould parts cooperating in the closed state of the mould with said window (1) to form said moulding cavity (2), said moulding cavity (2) comprising a contact between a part of the mould (30, 32) and a rim (14) of said window (2) and a part of the mould (30, 32) comprising at least one seal (4) situated close to said contact and outside said moulding cavity (2), said seal (4), when viewed in cross section, having a total width (1) that is in contact with said window (1) when said mould (3) is closed and a total thickness (e), characterised in that said seal (4) has, when said mould (3) is open, a ratio of width (l) to thickness (e) of between 1.5 and 25.0, including these values, or indeed of between 2.0 and 25.0, including these values, or indeed between 4.0 and 25.0, including these values.
