To provide a sign pole and a structure for the same capable of: improving the freedom of an installation space by preventing local buckling near the ground of the sign pole without changing the external shape of the sign pole; improving the passage of pedestrians and motor vehicles, and the like, near the sign pole; and being configured so as to be either difficult to bend, or to gently bend even by a collision with a motor vehicle, and the like.SOLUTION: A sign pole 2 structure includes: a sign pole 2 having an outside diameter D being substantially equal to a prescribed outside diameter, and an inner diameter d being a prescribed inner diameter; a tubular member whose thickness t is a prescribed thickness; and a reinforcement part 5 differing from the prescribed thickness while retaining the prescribed outside diameter in a first range from a first position P1 below the height of a ground level 4a to a second position P2 being above the height of the ground level 4a by a prescribed distance L in a state where the sign pole 2 is buried in a ground surface 4.
