To make a processing of a viewing investigation efficient by previously removing an unnecessary collation processing.SOLUTION: A viewing status investigation system analyzing a viewing status of a broadcast in a reproduction device of an investigation object, comprises: a feature amount extraction part that extracts a feature amount of a reproduction signal reproduced by the reproduction device; a device determination part that determines a kind of device transmitting the reproduction signal; a viewing data recording part that records the kind of device transmitting the feature amount of the reproduction signal and the reproduction signal as the viewing data in accordance with a reproduction date of the reproduction signal; and a viewing investigation part that specifies a broadcast station viewed by verifying each viewing data with the feature amount of the broadcast data broadcasted by each broadcast station with the feature amount of the reproduction signal about each viewing data through the reproduction device. In a viewing investigation performed by the viewing investigation part, a time shifting viewing investigation that performs the investigation part with the feature amount of the broadcast data broadcasted before the reproduction data of each viewing data is included. The viewing investigation part determines whether the time shifting viewing investigation is performed on the basis of the kind of device transmitting the reproduction signal or the kind of the reproduction device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
