To provide a method for preparing three dimensional porous polysaccharide matrices able to induce mineralisation of a tissue in an osseous site, as well as in a non-osseous site, in the absence of stem cells or growth factors.SOLUTION: A method for preparing a porous polysaccharide scaffold comprises the following steps: i) preparing an alkaline aqueous solution comprising an amount of at least one polysaccharide, an amount of a cross-linking agent and an amount of a porogen agent, ii) transforming the solution into a hydrogel by placing the solution at a temperature from about 4°C to about 80°C for a sufficient time to allow the cross-linking of the amount of polysaccharide, iii) submerging the hydrogel into a solvent, preferably an aqueous solution, and iv) washing the porous polysaccharide scaffold obtained at step iii), the alkaline aqueous solution of step i) further comprising hydroxyapatite, preferably nano-hydroxyapatite.SELECTED DRAWING: None
