PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting coil manufacturing apparatus and method that can wind a superconducting wire rod with high precision by a construction suitable for simplification.SOLUTION: A bobbin comprising plural linear portions and plural curved portions connecting the linear portions is rotated around the rotational center C1 corresponding to the center of the bobbin. A superconducting wire rod portion 12 is supplied to the bobbin under rotation and wound around the bobbin. In a winding step, an incidence angle adjusting unit 30 provided between a supply unit of the superconducting wire rod portion and the bobbin is moved along a moving axis Y1 which is set at a position distant from the bobbin. The incidence angle adjusting unit 30 is moved according to the rotation of the bobbin so that the distance L2 from a center axis X1 to the incidence angle adjusting unit 30 is not less than the distance L1 from the center axis X1 to the outermost peripheral portion of the superconducting wire rod member wound around the bobbin on a location side of the incidence angle adjusting unit 30 when viewed from the center axis X1, in which the center axis X1 is defined as an axis which passes the rotational center C1 and extends in the vertical direction to the moving axis Y1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
