System, method and apparatus for providing location and performance based guidance and feedback

Systems, methods and devices for providing feedback to individuals based on brushing performance and providing guidance on personal brushing are provided herein. In one exemplary embodiment, after the oral hygiene device is oriented, a determination is made about the segment in the individual's mouth where the brush head of the oral hygiene device is located. Once this determination is made, the sub-segment in the individual's mouth where the brush head is located is also determined. Brushing performance within the sub-segment is calculated and displayed to the user. The level of compliance for a particular segment is determined based on the brushing performance of various subsegments within the particular segment. If the level of compliance exceeds the preset compliance level for that segment, the individual is guided to a different segment in the mouth for brushing.
