The present invention provides a solid lubricant comprising a layered titanate compound having a low coefficient of friction, a grease composition and a plastic working lubricant composition using the same, a method of producing a solid lubricant and a method of processing a metallic material. A solid lubricant comprising a layered titanate compound having a layered structure formed by a chain of TiO6 octahedra, having a cationic organic compound between layers, and having an interlayer distance of 10 to 70 Å.
