Height Control The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for controlling a height of a component of agricultural equipment, wherein an average planting height is determined. In one embodiment, the agricultural equipment component is controlled to maintain a predetermined distance from a current crop top level. If a current crop top level cannot be determined, a virtual crop top level will be calculated using the average crop height value.
