A grain harvester includes a folding corn harvester head with a center section and folding wing sections. a folding thread separator cap at the hinge location of the folding head sections is folded to an inclined position so that the folding action between the wings and the central section is not impaired. a single assembly triggers the folding of the thread separator as well as locking and unlocking of the wing sections relative to the central frame section. A hydraulic cylinder drives a main coupling that connects to the line separator cover and also to a locking pin. the hydraulic cylinder drive pulls the extended end of the main coupling back and up to lift the cover. The same movement also pulls the locking pin forward of the socket. retracting the hydraulic cylinder rod lowers the extended end of the main coupling frame and pulls the cover down while also moving the bottom of the main coupling back to engage the locking pin with the frame.
