Multifactorial identity based on the blockchain can be provided. Authentication addresses in the blockchain can be created by identifying identifiers to subjects whose identity was previously authenticated, assigning authentication addresses in the blockchain to specified subjects, and writing identifiers and biometric data associated with the subjects to the corresponding authentication addresses. Multifactor authentication of a person based on the blockchain using authentication addresses can be accomplished by obtaining one or more identifiers in connection with one or more requests to authenticate the identity of one or more subjects, retrieving biometric data associated with said one or more subjects from the corresponding authentication addresses and authentication the identity of one or more subjects when receiving matching biometric data and secret keys.
