A solar energy concentration system comprising heliostats (12) and a field (900, 1200, 1600) of support structures (10, 70) incorporating the heliostats (12), each support structure including a frame (20 , 72) formed by a plurality of stringers (22, 74) with a generally triangular outer perimeter and a plurality of mounts (26, 78) for carrying the heliostats (12) provided at the perimeter of the perimeter with at least one mount (26, 78) at or near each vertex (16) of the outer triangular frame perimeter (20, 72), and at least one additional mount (26, 78) midway along each side of the outer triangular frame perimeter (20, 72) in which the field (900, 1200, 1600) comprises a plurality of rows (902, 1102, 1202) of support structures (10, 70) separated by successive distances of one or more towers (904, , 1002, 1204, 1400, 1900, 1702) central, being at least some of the structures (10, 70) of s oportion oriented approximately 180 degrees around its central geometric axis with respect to adjacent support structures (10, 70).
