IMPLANTABLE DEVICE FOR ACQUISITION AND MONITORING OF BRAIN BIOELECTRIC SIGNALS AND FOR INTRACRANIAL STIMULATION

There is provided an implantable device for the acquisition and monitoring ofbrainbioelectric signals comprising active electrodes suitable to detect brainbioelectric signals, saidactive electrodes being arranged on a grid connected to an electronic moduleof the implantabledevice according to a predefined pattern. The active electrodes are connectedto a microprocessorof said electronic module through respective paths formed on said grid andconnected to at leastone analog input unit arranged in the electronic module, the analog input unitbeing in turnconnected to at least one passive electrode and to said microprocessor througha data bus. Theanalog input unit comprises an analog-to-digital converter for each activeelectrode connectedthereto. It is possible to acquire in parallel and simultaneously thebioelectric signals detected byeach active electrode, which results in an improvement in the accuracy oflocalization and mappingof a brain disease focus.
