ON-BOARD DEVICE FOR LISTENING TO DIGITAL PROGRAMMES TRANSMITTED VIA THE INTERNET ON AN FM CAR RADIO, WITH WHICH DIGITAL PROGRAMMES ARE SELECTED IN THE SAME WAY AS PROGRAMMES TRANSMITTED IN THE TRADITIONAL MANNER ON STANDARD FM

The aim of the present invention is to enable any motorist with a built-in or add-on car radio device (AR) in the passenger compartment of his/her vehicle to use this car radio device (AR), simply and using the same operations, in order to listen to radio programmes transmitted on analog radio frequencies (FA) in the region in which the vehicle is travelling, but also any radio programmes transmitted via the internet from any part of the world. The device of the invention consists of a small "transcoder box" (C9) built into or added to the passenger compartment close to the car radio (AR). The invention differs from previous methods and, in particular, from the patent previously filed by the same applicant by virtue of the method of identifying digital radio stations (RN) selected by the user on the car radio (AR) in the vehicle. The invention is also different by virtue of the selection of FM analog frequencies (EF) by means of the geolocation of the vehicle, and the integration of all of the functions of the "transcoder box" (C9) inside the box of the car radio receiver (AR).
