The present invention relates to a biocompatible peptide suppressive of aggregation of β-amyloid protein and, more particularly, to a biocompatible peptide that is derived from superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) and binds specifically to β-amyloid, a β-amyloid aggregation inhibitor comprising the peptide, and a pharmaceutical composition for treating β-amyloid aggregation-related diseases, comprising the peptide. The peptide of the present invention strongly binds to β-amyloid, inhibits the formation of an aggregate of β-amyloid proteins, and prevents neuronal cell death, thereby having the advantage of treating neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. In addition, the peptide of the present invention enjoys the advantage of causing no side effects such as disturbance of the immune system, etc., thanks to its freedom from cytotoxicity.
