The present invention relates to the field of distributed devices and provides a large-scale OAM detection system and method in distributed devices. The system comprises an exchange integrated-circuit board, a plurality of service line cards and at least one OAM integrated-circuit board. The exchange integrated-circuit board is used for processing exchange of OAM messages between the OAM integrated-circuit boards and the plurality of service line cards; each service line card is used for processing exchange of OAM messages between the exchange integrated-circuit board and lines; and each OAM integrated-circuit board contains a plurality of OAM processing units and an SW. The SW is used for exchanging OAM messages between the OAM processing units and an intermediate exchange integrated-circuit board. In a down direction, the OAM processing units are used for adding next-hop information in front of the OAM messages, and sending the OAM messages to the exchange integrated-circuit board by means of the SW; and in an up direction, the OAM processing units are used for carrying out OAM processing on the OAM messages from the exchange integrated-circuit board. According to the present invention, the OAM processing capacity of the overall devices is improved, and the OAM stability is improved.
