A human body image recognition-based vehicle monitoring method, comprising: monitoring in real time whether there are people around a vehicle and whether the vehicle is moving; if yes, starting a GPS positioning function so as to acquire in real time the position information of the vehicle in real time, and transmitting in real time the vehicle position information to a user side terminal so that a user knows the position of the vehicle in time; acquiring image information of an area where a driver seat is located; determining whether the image information comprises a human body image; if yes, determining whether the human body image matches with a preset reference human body image; and if there is no match, starting a video monitoring function to record in real time the video information of the area where the vehicle is located, and transmitting the video information to the user side terminal. Also provided is a human body image recognition-based vehicle monitoring device. By means of the human body image recognition-based vehicle monitoring method and device, a user may know the state of a vehicle in time when another person is controlling movement of the vehicle, which may thus reduce the probability of the vehicle being stolen.
