A tire removal process in which a sandwiching step and a tire removal step are executed. In the sandwiching step, a lower support body (22) is caused to come in contact with a lower side wall (Twd) of the tire (T) and the tire (T) is sandwiched between an upper support body (42) and the lower support body (22), in a state in which a lower rim (33d) is fitted to a tire (T) and the upper support body (42) is in contact with an upper side wall (Twu) of the tire (T). In the tire removal step, the lower rim (33d) is moved vertically downwards, relative to the lower support body (44), and the tire (T) is peeled off the lower rim (33d), while continuing the sandwiching step.
