Provided are a laminated body manufacturing method with which a fiber-reinforced composite material molded article having a complicated shape can be manufactured, and a method for manufacturing a fiber-reinforced composite material molded article having good appearance and mechanical properties and having a complicated shape. A method for manufacturing a laminated body according to the present invention comprises laminating a sheet molding compound on at least a part of one or both of a butted portion and an overlapped portion, in an assembly 50 having at least one selected from the group consisting of said butted portion, in which ends of sheet-shaped prepregs are butted against each other so as to make lateral end surfaces thereof contact each other, and said overlapped portion, in which the ends of the sheet-shaped prepregs overlap each other.
