A computer-implemented method comprising: receiving, at a server, survey results relating to tax governance and tax risk management from one or more participants; computing, via a processor, scores for each of a plurality of tax governance assessment categories based on weighted values assigned to one or more survey questions; computing, via the processor, scores representative of gaps between assessed tax governance controls and benchmark controls, based on weighted values assigned to one or more survey questions; generating, via the processor, an action item if a score is below a threshold; displaying, on a user device, a graphical representation of the scores computed for each assessment category; displaying, on user device, a graphical representation of the computed gaps relative to each benchmark control.
