This invention is related to an antenna (1) which comprises a cavity (2), a conical structure (7) inside the cavity (2), with a hollow part to place the balun (5) in it, and a hole on top; an electromagnetic absorber (8) coated on the inner part of the wall of the cavity (2) and a dielectric material (9) filled in the space between the absorber (8) and the conical structure (7). The cavity (2) has been changed in this invention such that one can avoid using absorbers (8) with high pressure resistance such as honeycomb structures to obtain high hydrostatic pressure resistant antennas. As a result of modifying the antenna cavity structure as proposed, in the cavities of these antennas homogeneous foam/elastomeric absorbers (which do not have high pressure resistance) were used instead of high pressure resistant absorbers (8) (i.e. honeycomb structures). This resulted in an antenna (1) which could still resist high pressure levels.
