A system (1) for automatic monitoring of a suspended road infrastructure (2), provides for: transit monitoring sensors (6), coupled to the suspended road infrastructure (2) so as to detect weight characteristics of vehicles (5) moving on the suspended road infrastructure (2); structural monitoring sensors (8), coupled to the suspended road infrastructure (2) so as to detect structural evaluation parameters of the suspended road infrastructure (2); and an analysis module (10, 14), adapted to acquire signals detected by the transit monitoring sensors (6) and by the structural monitoring sensors (8), and process, in an integrated manner, such signals for the automatic identification of overloads, if the weight characteristics of the vehicles (5) are greater than a given load threshold, and furthermore for the monitoring of structural stresses and deformations of the suspended road infrastructure (2).
