The present invention relates to a method for, when a user device utters a query through a communication system, systematically responding to the query by a chatbot device having a dialog system built therein. A process of the present invention comprises: (a) extracting, from an input text, an entity which is fit for the purpose of a dialog; (b) generating a feature vector necessary for machine learning by using the extracted entity; and (c) extracting a query intention, a dialog subject, and a query situation, which are hierarchically configured, by using the generated feature vector so as to perform query understanding. Further, the process comprises (d) finding an answer suitable for hierarchical elements of the query intention, the dialog subject, and the query situation and generating the answer. In this way, the present invention enables hierarchical understanding of a user's expression and generation of an accurate answer.
