Disclosed are a mobile terminal-based vehicle remote control method and system. The vehicle remote control method comprises the following steps of: receiving a password instruction of a user by means of the same unlock interface of a mobile terminal when the mobile terminal is in a screen lock state; and determining the type of the password instruction and controlling, according to the type of the password instruction, an unlock screen of the mobile terminal corresponding thereto or performing remote control on a vehicle. The vehicle remote control method of embodiments of the present invention can perform remote control on a vehicle by inputting a password instruction without unlocking a mobile terminal, is simple to operate, improves the speed of remotely controlling the vehicle, and decreases the operation difficulty of a user, thereby improving the use experience thereof.
