Provided is a device for removing sediment/floating matter in water and on the water surface, the device comprising: a hood that is installed in water in a sedimentation basin, that has a space the bottom of which opens and in which water is accommodated, and that is formed such that at least a portion of an inner wall surface of the hood is inclined downward; and a drain tube that is provided at the top or in the vicinity of the top of the hood, and that is for draining the water that has been taken into the hood. Due to the foregoing, the device effectively removes floating matter which has not completely precipitated in a sedimentation basin.
