Provided is a pan tilt head-based IMU calibration method, comprising the following steps: S1. fixing an IMU module to a pan tilt head, so that the pan tilt head is perpendicular to a horizontal plane and is arranged stably (101); S2. controlling an electric motor of the pan tilt head to enable a setting face of the IMU module to rotate to each face to be measured, and recording the angular velocity and the acceleration measured by the IMU module when the IMU module rotates to each face to be measured (102); and S3. carrying out a fitting operation on the measured angular velocities and accelerations to obtain deviation parameters by means of calculation (103). By means of the method, the measurement deviation caused by environmental factors during the use of the IMU can be overcome.
