[Problem] To provide an exhaust gas purification device using a catalyst-carrying substrate: which can be placed in both a linear portion and a curved portion of an exhaust passage for exhaust gas so that the function of a catalyst can be quickly exhibited from a cold start; with which a catalyst-carrying body can be precisely and reliably placed at a prescribed position without cutting in half a conduit member in which the catalyst-carrying substrate is to be placed; which exhibits excellent exhaust gas purification performance and purification adjustment capability; which is easy to manufacture and assemble; and which can be manufactured at low cost. [Solution] A catalyst-carrying substrate 7: is disposed in an exhaust passage for discharging to the outside an exhaust gas G exhausted from an engine E; and contacts a toxic substance C included in the exhaust gas G that has been exhausted. The catalyst-carrying substrate uses, as a material 4, a plate-shaped member which has a plastically-workable metallic porous structure and which is made by layering and sintering a plurality of mesh structure sheets 3, where the catalyst-carrying substrate is obtained by the material 4 being bent and formed into a three-dimensional shape in which a front end 5a side has a convex shape and a back end 5b side has a concave shape.
