The present invention relates to upconversion nanoparticles for inhibiting β-amyloid aggregation. More specifically, the present invention relates to the upconversion nanoparticles on which a porous shell containing a photosensitizer is deposited, wherein the photosensitizer is characterized by generating active oxygen species by near-infrared irradiation to oxidize β-amyloid. Therefore, by using the upconversion nanoparticles on which the porous shell containing the photosensitizer is deposited according to the present invention, it is possible to effectively inhibit the β-amyloid aggregation and reduce β -amyloid toxicity, thereby being effectively used for photodynamic therapy of various neurodegenerative diseases induced by β-amyloid aggregation, such as Alzheimer′s disease, Parkinson′s disease, stroke, Huntington′s disease and the like.
