APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CAPTURING CARBON DIOXIDE IN DESULFURIZING PROCESS OF SEAWATER

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for collecting carbon dioxide in a seawater desulfurization process, which desulfurize exhaust gas of a power plant using seawater. The apparatus of the present invention comprises: a seawater inflow unit for introducing seawater; a stirring unit for introducing lime to the introduced seawater to stir the same so as to conduct a reaction; a desulfurization unit for desulfurizing exhaust gas using the seawater, and absorbing carbon dioxide of the exhaust gas to conduct a reaction with calcium; a precipitation unit for precipitating and separating calcium carbonate and calcium hydrogen carbonate generated in the desulfurization unit; a chemical introduction unit for introducing chemicals to adjust pH of desulfurized seawater; and a discharge unit for discharging processed seawater. Accordingly, lime is introduced to seawater prior to seawater desulfurization to conduct a reaction, desulfurization is performed by using the seawater, and carbon dioxide of exhaust gas reacts with calcium to be absorbed, such that a degassing process required for high energy consumption due to treatment of degassing of a large amount of seawater in a separate pit, is removed, thereby reducing constructing costs and operating costs of a seawater desulfurization process.
