According to the present invention, a human resource management system includes: a plurality of user terminals inputting position management information including career information and desired position information of an employee; and a human resource management server connectable to the user terminal and a manager terminal through a network. The human resource management server comprises: an information input unit inputting the position management information provided from the user terminal; an internal human resource information storage unit storing personal information including education information, military service information, certification information, family information, award and disciplinary information, education information, and human information of the employee; a career information storage unit storing the career information including work performance, personal history, and major field of the employee; a desired position information storage unit storing the desired position information including department satisfaction information and position application information of a desired department of the employee; a work performance evaluation management unit converting the work performance and career information of the employee into numeric scores for each item, and periodically summing the converted scores to generate evaluation information; and a position selection management unit referring to the position application information of the employee and the evaluation information generated by the work performance evaluation management unit to determine the position of the employee.
