The present invention relates to a weather strip for object approach detection and a detection apparatus for approach of an object using the same. According to one aspect of the present invention, a weather strip for object approach detection is coupled to a vehicle body or a door frame, and comprises: a coupling unit formed to extend along a longitudinal direction and having a groove into which an end of the frame is inserted; a blocking unit formed to extend along a longitudinal direction, formed to be integrally coupled to the coupling unit at the other side of the groove, and providing a blocking state with respect to a flow of air by being pressurized and deformed when a vehicle body and a door adhere to each other; and an electrode strip inserted into at least one of the coupling unit and the blocking unit in the shape of extending along a longitudinal direction, and detecting approach of an object by varying a capacitance value in accordance with the approach of the object.
