The present invention relates to a weather strip with a function of sensing object approach and apparatus for sensing object approach using the same. An aspect of the present invention provides a weather strip with the function of sensing an object approach, coupled to a chassis or a door frame of a car, comprising: a coupling unit extended in a longitudinal direction and forming a concave recess into which an end of the frame is inserted; a blocking unit extended in a longitudinal direction, integrally coupled to the coupling unit at the other side of the concave recess and pressed and deformed to offer a blocking state for air flow when the chassis comes into close contact with the door; two or more sensing strips embedded in at least one between the coupling unit and the blocking unit in a manner of being extended in parallel in a longitudinal direction and varying capacitance values according to the object approach to be able to sense the object approach, wherein a phase difference between the sensing strips is generated by a phase control unit and a change of the capacitance value is sensed in a state that an electric field generated by each sensing strip is mutually overlapped. The present invention prevents accidents generated when objects or passengers are put between the chassis and the door.
