Provided is a method for preparing polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanoparticle, comprising the following steps of: (step 1) preparing a mixed solution by mixing a radical initiator, distilled water, and a compound represented by chemical formula 1; and (step 2) adding vinylidene fluoride (VDF) to the mixed solution prepared in the step 1. According to the present invention, it is possible to use much less amount of a compound than a conventional process using ammonium-based ammonium perfluorinated octanoate (APFO) having eight carbon fluoride, by using a polyethylene glycol-based compound in an emersion polymerization, and a compound used in the present invention is not accumulated in a human body and has almost no toxicity, thereby significantly reducing production costs of PVDF as well as replacing APFO.
