The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an animal model of schizophrenia, comprising a step of administering cocaine to an animal other than a human; an animal model of schizophrenia manufactured by the method; and a method for screening a therapeutic agent for schizophrenia using the animal model of schizophrenia. The animal model of schizophrenia manufactured by the method of the present invention simultaneously exhibits positive, negative, and cognitive symptoms of schizophrenia, can be manufactured in a short period of time, and thus can be utilized for schizophrenia research and screening of a therapeutic agent for schizophrenia.
