The present invention relates to a system and a method for retrieving game content-based e-sports game video information. The method for retrieving game content-based e-sports game video information comprises: a step in which a server executes a game observer client for relaying and observing a game, and collects game log data by detecting a state of the executed game observer client; a step in which the server aggregates the collected data and analyzes a pattern to be used for image retrieval; and a step in which the server generates and stores a pattern analysis matrix by matching a scene where the corresponding game content appears in a separated digital video with reference to time code information included in the analyzed pattern. In an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, game log data information of an e-sports game video is collected and analyzed to generate a game content-based pattern analysis matrix, and associated various game content-based videos or scenes are presented by using the pattern analysis matrix such that a user is able to easily and quickly access content that the user wants, thereby reducing time and cost, and it is possible to impart characteristics to e-sports image content, thereby increasing user′s interest and concentration on the content.
