Disclosed are a method and a system for maintaining and managing a port for preventing damage to a port facility when docking a ship based on internet of things. The method for maintaining and managing a port comprises the steps of: collecting information on a ship entering a port docking facility and climate and environmental information of the port docking facility; setting an allowable speed limit for the ship based on the information on the ship and the climate and environmental information of the port docking facility; and setting the ship as a speeding ship when the speed of the ship exceeds the allowable speed limit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
