According to an embodiment of the present invention, a robot cleaner for avoiding a constraint situation through artificial intelligence can comprise: a sensing unit for detecting a constraint situation of the robot cleaner; a driving drive unit for driving the robot cleaner; and a processor configured to determine a rotation angle of the robot cleaner when the constraint situation is detected through the sensing unit, control the driving drive unit to rotate at the determined rotation angle, and control the driving drive unit so that the robot cleaner moves backward by a predetermined distance after being rotated by the rotation angle.
