An associated content item recommendation method based on a social network performed by a server comprises the steps of: selecting, by a first user, an original content item; generating a first processed content item including identification information of the original content item, which is source information indicating a location, in which the original content item is stored, according to a request from the first user; and recommending, when a second user views the first processed content item, the other content item associated with the original content item of which the identification information is included in the processed content item. The step of recommending the other content item associated with the original content item comprises the steps of: establishing, when the number of different processed content items including identification information of at least two original content items in common is greater than a predetermined value, an associative relationship between the identification information of at least two or more original content items included in common, wherein the associative relationship is established to be higher when the number of the processed content items including the identification information of at least two original content items in common is higher; establishing, according to the associative relationship between the identification information of at least two or more original content items, an associative relationship between a first original content item and a second original content item, and establishing, when an associative relationship between the second original content item and a third original content item is established, an associative relationship between the first original content item and the third original content item; and recommending, when the second user views the first processed content item, at least one second processed content item including identification information of the original content item having the highest associative relationship among the plurality of original content items of which associative relationships are established with the original content item of the first processed content item. According to the present invention, not only people living in Korean but also people living in other countries can participate in development of content items, thereby contributing to spreading the Korean wave.
