The present invention provides a remote metering modem incorporating RF communication and mobile communication network technology. The remote metering modem communicates with subordinate RF meter modems connected to meters by using a wireless RF to collect metering data from the meters, and transmits the collected metering data to a superior metering server by using LTE communication technology, thereby enabling a remote metering system operating company to minimize communication expenses by using wireless RF communication in a licensed-exempt band with no cost. The remote metering modem controls each task to be sequentially performed according to the priority of each task in a case in which a value obtained by summing power consumption for each task exceeds the maximum quantity of power of the meters when performing multitasks by using unit tasks, which communicate with the subordinate RF meter modems connected to the meters by using the wireless RF to collect the metering data from the meters, and a unit task, which transmits the collected metering data to the superior metering server by using the LTE communication technology, thereby managing the value obtained by summing power consumption for each task not to exceed the maximum quantity of power of the meters. Thus, a problem can be solved that various tasks are simultaneously performed to cause power consumption required for execution of the tasks to exceed the maximum quantity of power of the meters, thereby leading the remote metering modem to be downed.
