It is an object of the present invention to provide a fire retardant additive having an expansion property of expanded graphite while increasing the hardness of the expanded graphite. The fire retardant additive includes expanded graphite, a first acrylic resin film surrounding the expanded graphite, a second acrylic resin film on the first acrylic resin film, and a fireproof filler in the second acrylic resin film.
