FIELD: surveying.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of surveying points of a state geodetic network (SGN). Summary: a list of SGN points to be inspected is made. Archival data on location of these points and their characteristics, as well as information on topographic objects located near points of SGN, archived aerial photographs are selected for areas of location of points of SGN. Archival materials are digitized and rendered on a video monitor screen. Content of visualized materials is compared with content of materials of area aerial photography of areas of location of SGN stations for the period of their survey. On the basis of this comparison, the marks and signs describing the presence or absence of the SGN point are identified. Survey results of each of the SGN points are stored on physical data carriers. For each area of location of point of SGN or group of such points, an aerial image is selected. Space image is brought to standard scale. On the aerial photography images of the area, fragments are selected to detail the topographic situation around the station. These fragments of aerial photographic images are coordinate-linked to the space photograph and brought to the standard scale of the space photograph. Prior to archiving materials of the survey of SGN points, scaled fragments of aerial photography images of the area are mounted on the space photograph and the document is placed in the archive. Device for realizing a method of examining a point of a GHS comprises digital camera (8), at least one electronic computing machine (2) (ECM), unit (3) for controlling ECM (2), video monitor (12), by means of communication channel (13) connected to ECM (2), means (14) for simultaneous visualization of aerial photographic image of area of location of point of SGN and image of area on space image. Besides, this device (14) is equipped with beam-splitting element (18), which provides visual combination of images of the terrain in order to compare, zoom and coordinate the selected fragments of images of the area to space image.;EFFECT: technical result is reduction of labor costs.;5 cl, 1 dwg
