FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. For transplantation of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) in experiments on rabbits, microinvasive three-port 25 G vitrectomy is performed in central and posterior parts of vitreous body, followed by retinotomy at 3 mm above central area of retina by means of acute cannula 39 G-calibrated. Then subretinal is single transplanting 81 or 162 3D cell spheroids RPE using a syringe connected to the apparatus for vitreoretinal surgery, wherein each of spheroids contains 1,000 cells, spheroids are in 0.05 ml of sterile physiological solution. Operation is completed by tamponade of the vitreal cavity with sterile air and suturing on the scleral incisions and conjunctiva.;EFFECT: method enables creating a new cell layer of RPE by delivering cell grafts into the required area under the retina with subsequent fast adhesion and spreading, is microinvasive and accordingly less traumatic, does not require retinal endolaser coagulation in paracentral areas and tamponade of vitreal cavity with silicone oil.;1 cl, 2 ex
