An air management device for a filter assembly includes an upper portion, a lower portion, a plurality of frame members connecting the upper portion to the lower portion to define an inner cavity, and an air management valve. The air management valve has a base portion, an intake valve and an exhaust valve. The base portion is provided at the lower portion. The inlet valve extends from the base portion toward the upper portion into the inner cavity. The inlet valve has an elongated opening extending along a longitudinal length of the inlet valve. The exhaust valve extends from the base portion toward the upper portion into the inner cavity. The inlet valve is configured to draw intake air through the elongated opening, and the amount of air introduced through the elongated opening varies based on a fluid level present in the air management device.
