A marine escape system for evacuating a marine structure 44 comprises a chute 11, a platform 12 and at least one inflatable life raft 13. These parts are deployable from a packed disposition on the structure to a disposition in which the chute 11 leads from the structure to the platform floating on the water and the platform leads to the inflated life raft so providing a passage for people from the structure to the life raft. The platform is formed by inner and outer parts (18, 19) that are relatively rotatable to allow, on deployment, the life raft (13) to swing relative to the chute (11). The platform may be either inflatable or non-inflatable, and some embodiments the platform may be releasably attached to the life raft.
